This is my risk assessment for the "Better Health" TV advert. The main purposes of a risk assessment are to evaluate potential hazards, then remove that hazard or minimise the level of its risk by adding control measures, as necessary. By doing so, you will have created a safer and healthier workplace for everyone. Whilst filming, it is very important to keep an eye out for hazards such as, potential injury from pyrotechnic effects, vehicle crashes and tripping hazards like unplugged wires/cables. A good example of a tripping hazard would be when filming in cold/icy weather. This can be classed as a hazard due to the danger of cast and crew slipping leading to injuring themselves and damaged equipment. In the industry, employers are required to have a management system in place to control the risk to employees and others from their work. You must also review and update the risk assessments you have made and the controls you put in place as work progresses to make sure they are still working. After the production, it is good practice to review the whole system to see whether useful lessons can be learned for the future.
